Trust: European Research Co-creating Resilient Societies

Trust is currently a big issue – in politics, in business and in our society. The high-level conference entitled Trust: European Research Co-creating Resilient Societies conference, which takes place at the Palais des Académies in Brussels, 29-30 October, will address the issue of trust and the role of European research in creating resilient societies for a better future. 

The conference includes many high-level speakers from an array of disciplines and organisations – from academia to business and NGOs. Carlos Moedas, EU Commissioner for Research & Innovation, is the guest of honour and will speak in the afternoon of 29^th of October.

The main goal of the conference is to showcase Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research within the broad concept of trust, show the real impact of research and take it out of its assumed ivory-tower for the benefit of society as a whole. An exhibit presenting objects of social innovation will complete this approach to research, highlighting the societal relevance and usability of SSH research for society, business and citizens. 

On the 2^nd day of the conference, the current Horizon 2020 Work Programme for Societal Challenge 6 “Europe in a Changing World –Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Socieites” will be presented by the European Commission. The EU-funded network of national contact points “Net4Society” together with the European Commission is hosting this high level event, with over 400 registered participants.

Simplificarea în Orizont 2020 (H2020)

În data de 25 septembrie curent, Carlos Moedas, Comisar pentru Cercetare şi Inovare al Comisiei Europene, de rînd cu reprezentanţii Directoratului General, au organizat o întrevedere cu membrii comunităţii ştiinţifice, ONG-urilor, IMM-urilor și reprezentanții altor părți interesate. În cadrul acesteia s-a discutat despre simplificarea în Programul Comunitar H2020. 

Dat fiind faptul că H2020 a fost conceput diferit de programele de finanţare a ştiinţei ce s-au desfăşurat din anii ’80 încoace, s-a ţinut cont, inclusiv de crearea condiţiilor avantajoase pentru potenţialii aplicanţi, astfel încît procedura de depunere a propunerilor de proiect, dar şi aspectele financiare şi legale, să consume mai puţin timp, iar efortul maxim să fie dedicat activităţilor ce țin de cecrcetare și/sau promovarea acesteia.

În acest context, discuţia din 25 septembrie a avut drept scop identificarea aspectelor apreciate de actualii sau potenţialii aplicanţi în H2020, dar şi a problemelor întîlnite de către aceştia, atît în procesul depunerii propunerii de proiect, cît şi pe parcursul derulării primelor proiecte în cadrul noului program.
